Another budgeting tool?

This tool is to store and track personal financial information such as your budget and cashflow.

It started because I needed to control my finances better so I could tell where, when and how much I spend on alcohol.  I did try other tools in the past and they were either too complicated or they lacked the features I wanted.  Like all good things, the true beginning was a simple budget in an Excel sheet.  But to store and track all of the transactions it was moved to MS Access almost straight away.  MS Access is great, however I couldn’t use it on my phone or share it with others.  So I have worked on moving it to the web.

Having a budget is great but without the cashflow projection a budget by itself might still leave you short on cash during a certain time of year.  This was the next part of the database.  Although simple in nature, a cashflow projection helps to visualise when and if you need to make changes to your finances in the near future.

In this day and age (unless you are making too much money) most people think about money constantly.  Without tracking, there is a tendency to not even realise how many little purchases are made that add up to be a considerable chunk of our income or sometimes more than our income.  While this tool is still in development I hope that it helps you with your personal finances.
